AI can generate a website. It can’t run one.

A website that looks finished still needs someone who knows how to keep it working.

A draft is not the job

AI can help create words, layout ideas, and a first draft. The technology is impressive. But a business website still needs the right structure, useful buttons, pages that work on phones, and forms that actually send a lead where it needs to go.

The helpful question is not whether AI can make something that looks like a website. It is who understands the website after it goes live and who notices when something needs attention.

The website still has to work after launch

Someone needs to check contact forms, connect domains, handle requested changes, keep security and backups current, and confirm that tracking tools are connected. Booking links, payment tools, and maps need to be tested instead of assumed.

That does not make AI useless. It makes it one tool in a process that still needs responsibility and judgment.

Keep ownership understandable

A business should know where its domain lives, who controls the hosting, and who can make a correction when the information changes. A generated site without a clear owner or maintenance path can become harder to repair than a simple site built with a plan.

Website Care is $100/month for hosting, security + backups, minor updates, and GA4 + Search Console tracking. It is optional for bigger builds. The right level of help depends on the business and the kind of website it owns.

Use the tool, keep the responsibility

A good website is not only the moment it launches. It is the clear information, working paths, and ongoing care behind it. If you are considering an AI-built site, it is worth asking who will handle it after the first version appears.
